Welcome to the Compton Primary School Website

Compton Primary School opened in 1863 and is a small school situated 5kms west of Mount Gambier. The school is a caring and supportive learning community with a strong commitment to provide high quality education for students from Reception to year 7.

Compton Primary School offers a broad and balanced curriculum with a wide variety of extra curriculum programs. There is a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy with specific targeted intervention programs in place to support students to maximise their confidence and learning growth.

Teachers offer diverse, engaging and differentiated classroom programs, along with personalised learning opportunities. These include Choir, Small Schools District Sports Day, Footsteps Dance, Sporting Schools Program, Class Assemblies, SAPSASA Sport opportunities, Eisteddfod Debating, Lions Mad Minute Competition, biannual Whole School Productions, Student Leadership, Cows Create Careers Program, Christmas Parade Float, ANZAC Day Award competition and celebrations, Year 6/7 Canberra Camp and various other sporting and academic activities.

Compton Primary School has the services of a Pastoral Support Worker. She works with the school to support the well-being of staff, students and parents.

Students have access to IT equipment which includes interactive boards, iPads and laptops.
